China-Africa Internet Development and Cooperation Forum Commences in Xiamen

XIAMEN, Apr.2 (China Economic Net) -- The China-Africa Internet Development and Cooperation Forum kicked off in Xiamen, April 2, 2024, under the theme "Building a Digital Innovation Partnership and Shaping a Bright Future of Digital Cooperation." The forum aims to facilitate extensive discussions and exchanges to introduce new consensus on digital collaboration between China and Africa, devise fresh initiatives for digital cooperation. Additionally, the forum also featured the unveiling ceremony of the China-Africa Exchange and Cooperation Center on Cybersecurity and Digital Economy.
During the proceedings, Mr. Zhuang Rongwen, Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, put forth four key proposals: firstly, to uphold collaborative sharing in the information revolution and actively align with the African Union's Agenda 2063; secondly, to uphold mutual assistance and safeguard peace and security in cyberspace; thirdly, to uphold openness and inclusivity to promote exchanges and mutual progress in cyber civilization; and fourthly, to uphold fairness and justice while enhancing the global internet governance system. Mr. Zhuang also highlighted the new challenges posed by emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and emphasized the need for collective wisdom and engagement to chart a path of sustainable and healthy development.
