BEIJING, Apr. 18 (China Economic Net) - The upcoming Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum), scheduled from May 25 to 29 in Beijing, promises to be a more international edition, with a diverse array of participants from around the world expected to attend.

 

Reflecting the theme of "Innovation: Building a Better World," this year's forum will feature a wide range of events aimed at fostering collaboration and exploring cutting-edge advancements in science and technology.

 

During a press conference held in Beijing on April 17, Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, provided an overview of the forum, highlighting three main features: a focus on cutting-edge exploration, sharing achievements, and promoting open cooperation. 

 

As an illustration of cutting-edge exploration, the 2024 ZGC Forum will concentrate on fields such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, and new materials. It will host a series of conference events to release a batch of the latest significant technological achievements, showcasing its leading role in fostering new quality productive forces and promoting global technological innovation.

 

In terms of achievements sharing, the focus will be on areas such as achieving peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, healthcare, and clean energy technologies. Through activities like the Zhongguancun International Technology Trading Conference and the Zhongguancun International Frontier Science and Technology Competition, it will establish a trading and sharing platform for over 3,000 technological achievements from more than 40 countries and regions.

 

Launched in 2007, the overarching goal of the forum is to facilitate open cooperation and collaboration across borders, leveraging the collective wisdom and expertise of participants from around the world to address pressing global challenges and build a brighter future through innovation. As preparations for the forum enter the final stages, anticipation is running high for what promises to be a dynamic and impactful gathering of minds from across the globe.
