The event, organized by the Beijing municipal government on Wednesday and participated by nearly 30 countries and regions around the world, marks yet another move for the capital of China, a rising technology powerhouse, to create a dynamic and inclusive ecosystem for global tech advancements.

For the first time, 13 international corporate giants including Intel, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, BMW, Bayer, Pfizer, etc., joined the Global Service Partners initiative of the Beijing Municipality at an ensuing salon. A series of services, such as high-level dialogues, consultation, matchmaking, etc. will be provided under the partnership initiative in a bid to unleash the driving force of opening up.

“I'd like to use opportunity to reinforce that British multinational companies with investments in China remain committed to this market. In some cases, it means increasing capital investment and establishing new joint ventures worldwide. The reality is that the majority of British companies operating in China remain profitable and growing”, said Tom Simpson, Managing Director in China of China Britain Business Council.

Wu Yanyan, BMW Group Vice President for Government and External Affairs of Greater China told China Economic Net that open policies of China have empowered international companies to thrive and excel. “After three decades of presence in China, China has become the biggest single market for BMW and is home to our largest manufacturing base in the globe. In the sector of new energy vehicles, China’s market-driven environment spurs innovation and enables international companies here to take a lead globally”, she said, referring to the 20 billion RMB additional investment recently to be made in Shenyang, China for the development of a novel BEV model.

David Perez-Des Rosiers, Director, Beijing Chapter, Canada China Business Council said to China Economic Net that Canadian businesses highly benefited from China's opening up from over four decades ago. “Our economies show important synergy, and I believe bilateral engagements like today’s event will go a very long way in helping Canadian businesses in multiple sectors to come and invest here”, he said.

Envoys from South Africa, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bolivia, Nepal, Viet Nam, Senegal, and chambers of commerce of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia were also present at the event, underscoring the global interest in China's evolving technology landscape and the collaborative opportunities it presents.
