LANZHOU, July 23 (China Economic Net) - Located in Northwest China, Gansu Province is emerging as a promising new tourism center, attracting attention with its unique blend of natural beauty, historical sites, and cultural richness.

Known for its stunning landscapes, including the famous Rainbow Mountains and the breathtaking Hexi Corridor, Gansu is positioning itself as a must-visit destination for those seeking adventure and exploration. With ongoing investment in infrastructure and tourism development, the province is well on its way to becoming a major player in the Chinese tourism industry, according to Nguyen Phuong Thao, a Vietnamese tourist on his current visit to Gansu.

Two tourist spots are very famous during the summer vacation in Gansu province: Bafang Shisanxiang with its eight mosques and thirteen alleys is a typical ethnic minority residential area and the old town area where the Linxia Hui people have lived for generations and is home to over 17,000 people from eight ethnic groups, including Hui, Han, Dongxiang and Sala. Its history can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty a thousand years ago.

The area covers about 410,000 square meters, with a pedestrian zone over 1,300 meters long. Since its renovation in October 2016, Bafang Shisanxiang has been visited by more than 13 million tourists, and more than 10,000 residents from various ethnic groups have increased their income through the booming tourism industry.

Shopkeepers said that they import various products from different countries, such as carpets and saffron from Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, combining the old Silk Road trade routes with the new Belt and Road Initiative. The Baiyi Yinong International Flower Port also plays a role in promoting tourism in Linxia City through the beauty of nature, also known as romantic attraction.

From the breathtaking landscapes to the vibrant culinary traditions epitomized by the beloved Muslim Lanzhou noodles, Gansu invites visitors to enjoy its unique cultural heritage and discover the hidden treasures that make it a must-visit destination in China.
