BEIJING, Sept. 2 (China Economic Net) - Pakistan’s meat exports to China have reached more than USD 2.6 million from January to July 2024 as per the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). This remarkable achievement highlights the growing demand for Pakistani meat products in the Chinese market.
Owais Mir, Chairman of the DEA Group and meat exporter told China Economic Net that the primary export item driving this growth has been boiled beef to China, which has seen a surge in popularity among Chinese consumers. The quality and taste of Pakistani meat and competitive pricing have made it an attractive option for Chinese importers.
“This development is a testament to the efforts made by both governments to strengthen economic ties and explore new avenues of cooperation. The meat trade between Pakistan and China is expected to continue growing, further solidifying the countries' position as important partners in the global market”, he added.
Chaudhary Javed Saleem, affiliated with the meat and agriculture products business expressed that this positive trade trend is expected to continue, as both governments work towards further strengthening economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration in the agricultural domain. The successful expansion of Pakistan's meat exports to China serves as a testament to the country's commitment to diversifying its export portfolio and enhancing its global competitiveness.
Mongolia and Pakistan are the top destinations for boiled meat export to China and Pakistan exported 540 tons of boiled meat to China from January to July 2024 worth $2.607 million, whereas Mongolia exported 1640 tons of boiled meat in the first seven months of this year.
It is to be noted that The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) allowed Pakistani companies to export boiled meat to China last year and so far, three Pakistani companies registered with GACC for exporting boiled meat to China.
