UAE National Pavilion unveiled at 2024 CIFTIS, marking 40 yrs of diplomatic relations

BEIJING, Sept. 13 (China Economic Net) - The UAE National Pavilion was officially inaugurated at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing on September 13.
 
The UAE National Pavilion showcased the achievements of several key Emirati sectors, including business, communications, manufacturing, finance, aviation, culture, and tourism. Notable participants included the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, the Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai, Al Foah, Halawa, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, Yahsat, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Borouge, Mubadala, and First Abu Dhabi Bank. These entities highlighted the UAE's dynamic and diverse economic growth.
 
Following the opening ceremony, the "UAE-Beijing Economic Forum," as part of a series of events celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the UAE and China was held. Themed "40 Years of Shared Prosperity," the forum focused on advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and finance, aiming to assist private tech companies in expanding to overseas markets. More than 150 representatives from both Chinese and Emirati industries participated.
 
In his speech, Khaled Shah emphasized the significance of the event, stating: “This occasion is an important platform to deepen UAE-China bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation. The UAE is committed to working closely with China to strengthen our shared economic interests and deepen the cultural and social ties between our peoples. We are confident that this solid partnership will continue to flourish, bringing greater development and prosperity to both nations."
 
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE, ushering in a new stage in their comprehensive strategic partnership. The UAE has become China’s largest non-oil trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching $82 billion in 2023.  Trade volume between the two nations is expected to hit $200 billion by 2030. Additionally, the UAE accounts for 47.7% of China's total investment in Arab countries, while Emirati investments in China represent 33% of all Arab investments in the country.
