BEIJING, Sept. 25 (China Economic Net) - Whether you are exercising at home following fitness videos, or sweating outdoors, have you ever felt tired, irritated, or wanted to give up halfway? As the AI wave sweeps the globe, a series of smart tools are integrated into the field of sports and fitness, making repeating motion interesting.
At the ongoing 2024 PT Expo China (PTEXPO), an ICT ecosystem’s leading event, Chinese communications giant China Mobile launched a new AI smart fitness assistant- Daily Ba Duan Jin (a traditional Chinese health-preserving Qigong), which combines Ba Duan Jin with modern artificial intelligence technology, to uses an intelligent body recognition system to track movements in real time, providing users with accurate scores and personalized guidance suggestions.

“After accessing our tool through a TV, smartphone or tablet, users can practice with the AI sparring partner on the screen. The integration of AI technology, like a tireless fitness coach, not only solves problems such as irregular movements and difficult to evaluate results, but also greatly enhances the fun and interactivity,” a China Mobile staff told China Economic Net.
Another telecom giant, China Unicom, following with the current popular cycling sport in China to launched its own eSIM AI sports glasses, which can not only protect riders’ eyes under the scorching sun like ordinary sports sunglasses, but also use AI to perform real-time route tracking, physical analysis, and even contact other riders by voice or phone during cycling.

“During the ride, riders can not only talk to each other, but also use the map navigation function provided by the glasses to display the location of each teammate, as well as take photos, record videos.” According to China Unicom staff, the brand-new AI glasses manufactured by Unicom’s partner QIDI can display sports data such as riding speed, Beidou satellite navigation, timer and distance, at the same time import GPX road books to facilitate riding navigation for specific routes.
At present, the scale of AI fitness applications in China is expanding at full speed. More and more sports and technology companies are accelerating their intelligent transformation, during which AI is widely used in the sports field, such as scientific training, body analysis, and auxiliary judgment. Industry reports show that the scale of China’s smart sports and fitness market has reached 18 billion yuan in 2021, and is expected to exceed 82 billion yuan in 2025, with a compound growth rate of about 46% from 2021 to 2025.
