1. China is an important driving force for global inter-connectivity

 

Great achievements have been made for China to be more inter-connected with other countries, with China-Europe Railway Express providing over 100,000 freight train services, the construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Chancay port in Peru built to be a new land-sea transport corridor between Latin America and Asia. China upholds the principles of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits" in global governance, while facilitating the modernization of the Global South, and promoting more balanced, universally beneficial and inclusive growth.

 

2. Improve the regional industrial cooperation mechanisms

 

Industry is an important tool for economic development. In line with the focus of the Central Economic Work Conference held in December, 2024, it is important to deepen regional industrial cooperation in the east, central, west and northeast regions. More efforts will be made in regional industrial cooperation, so as to bring complementary advantages and mutual benefit, and better promote coordinated regional development.

 

 

1. Immersive space of art and shows and new space for digital exhibitions will be supported by local governments, according to measures to foster new growth points in the culture and tourism sector released by China's State Council.

 

2. China has launched the construction of a key scientific infrastructure to generate attosecond laser, which will help scientists "see" the ultrafast particles in the microscopic world and facilitate cutting-edge research and high-tech industries. The technology of attosecond laser has provided a groundbreaking tool for the direct measurement of electronic dynamics, offering novel technological means to address significant fundamental scientific issues in physics, chemistry, materials science, information technology and biomedicine.

 

3. China's General Administration of Customs on January 12 unveiled 16 key measures aimed at further energizing the country's central region. These measures focus on central region in building hubs for inland opening up, developing new quality productive forces, and proactively serving and integrating into the new development paradigm.

 

1. The cumulative rail-sea transportation of goods on the Western Land Sea New Channel reached 960,000 TEUs in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent, setting a new historical high and achieving growth for seven consecutive years, according to the Nanning Bureau of China Railway.

 

2. Data shows that in 2024, the annual sales of domestic buyout games reached RMB 10.22 billion, a year-on-year increase of 398.5 percent. Among them, "Black Myth: Wukong" contributed an estimated sales of RMB 9 billion.

 

3. The transaction volume of China's data market is estimated to have topped RMB 160 billion (about USD 22.26 billion) in 2024, up more than 30 percent year on year, according to the National Data Administration.

 

4. The passenger and cargo transportation of China-Laos Railway has grown strongly in 2024, with 19.11 million passengers and 19.64 million tons of goods transported, up 15 percent and 10.5 percent respectively year-on-year, according to the Kunming Bureau of China Railway.

 

5. The value of China's international trade in goods reached a historical high of RMB 43.85 trillion in 2024, and the total volume, increment, and quality of China's foreign trade all achieved growth, according to the General Administration of Customs.

 

6. China's auto sector hit a new milestone in 2024, with both production and sales exceeding 31 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on January 13.

 

7. According to the National Immigration Administration, in 2024, the national immigration management agencies have inspected a total of 610 million inbound and outbound personnel, a year-on-year increase of 43.9 percent. Among them, 291 million mainland residents, 254 million Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents and 64.882 million foreigners, up 41.3 percent, 38.8 percent and 82.9 percent year-on-year respectively.

 

8. The direct settlement of cross-provincial medical bills across the country operated basically stable in 2024, benefiting 238 million insured people and reducing advance payment by RMB 194.725 billion, an increase of 84.70 percent and 26.71 percent respectively compared to 2023, according to the National Healthcare Security Administration,

 

9. The sales revenue of consumer goods under China's policy-backed trade-in program has surpassed RMB 1.3 trillion (USD 180.85 billion), data from China's Ministry of Commerce showed on January 15.

 

10. China's railway has transported 4.312 billion passengers in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 11.9 percent, and the annual passenger volume exceeded the 4.3 billion mark for the first time.
