On February 19, Anyang's first 110 kV vehicle-mounted mobile substation was successfully commissioned near the Copper Smelting Zone of Anyang New Chemical Industrial Park, ensuring a stable power supply for the region’s rapidly growing Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Truck charging stations.

As environmental awareness rises and new energy vehicle technologies advance, Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks are emerging as a preferred choice in logistics, construction, and mining industries. Anyang has been actively promoting the transition to clean energy in transportation, adjusting its transport structure, and implementing policies to encourage enterprises and transport operators to adopt new energy vehicles. In 2024, the city added 1,611 Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks. Measures such as increasing the proportion of clean transportation in key industries and expanding diesel truck restriction zones have contributed to a 6.5% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions in 2023, with an additional 19.5% decrease projected for 2024—ranking second in Henan Province and fourth nationwide. Consequently, demand for charging infrastructure has surged. In the Copper Smelting Zone, where charging station development is highly concentrated, the planned and ongoing construction and expansion projects are expected to reach a total power capacity of 50,000 kVA.

To address the sudden increase in electricity demand for charging stations in the Copper Smelting Zone while overcoming the long construction timeline of conventional substations, State Grid Anyang Power Supply Company adopted an innovative, customer-centric approach. While expediting the construction of conventional transmission and substation projects, the company also deployed a 50,000 kVA vehicle-mounted mobile substation to provide transitional power for new Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks. This initiative ensures a more robust and effective green development in Anyang.

This marks the first deployment of a 50,000 kVA vehicle-mounted mobile substation in Anyang. With its flexibility, rapid deployment, and high efficiency, the mobile substation serves as an essential solution to the region’s emergency power needs, particularly in areas with growing charging demands. To expedite the project, State Grid Anyang Power Supply Company collaborated closely with Pinggao Group, the manufacturer of the mobile substation, and assigned dedicated personnel to oversee production, reducing the typical manufacturing timeline from two to three months. This ensured a seamless connection from production to commissioning, allowing for the substation’s efficient deployment and timely operation.
