BEIJING, Mar 24 (China Economic Net) - The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing held a flag hoisting ceremony on Sunday to mark the 85th anniversary of Pakistan Day, which commemorates the 1940 Lahore Resolution. The event was attended by embassy officials, their families, and members of the Pakistani community in China.
At the ceremony, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi raised the national flag. Messages from Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar were read aloud, paying tribute to the country’s founders and emphasizing Pakistan’s contributions to international peace, security, and stability.
In his speech, Ambassador Hashmi described the ties between Pakistan and China as a model of strategic cooperation, mutual respect, and solidarity. He pointed to progress in key areas such as trade, infrastructure, technology, and cultural exchanges, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening collaboration, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi urged Pakistanis to use the National Day as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the country’s progress and development. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective efforts in shaping a prosperous Pakistan.
The ceremony ended with attendees expressing their commitment to Pakistan’s progress and to enhancing relations with China.
