BEIJING, May 29 (China Economic Net) - At the ongoing 2025 Asia (Beijing) International Food Exhibition (AIFE), organic food, food for seniors and food service robots stand out among thousands of exhibits, providing clues about the latest trends in China’s food industry.

The exhibition features a wide range of organic and green food products including edible oils, fruits, edible bird's nests, plant-based drinks, and milk from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, etc. Many visitors were observed asking exhibitors whether products they’d like to buy were organic. “I noticed a significant shift that Chinese consumers have been showing a growing interest in organic and high-quality products. They prioritize health, favoring foods with minimal or zero additives, especially after the COVID pandemic,” Li Jianfeng, a Malaysian exhibitor specialized in green and organic food told CEN. “China’s organic food industry is of opportunities. It will flourish,” he said.

As China’s greying welfare expands, a variety of senior-friendly food products are displayed. These products are designed to meet the specific nutritional and dietary needs of the elderly, such as being more easily digestible with a balanced nutrient composition. Feng Ming from Want Want Group highlighted their low-GI products at the exhibition, which have obtained authoritative certification. Major firms like Nestlé, Yili, and Nongfu Spring have also launched senior-friendly lines in recent years as the food industry in China is gearing up to seize opportunities in the aging society.

Robots capable of making ice cream and coffee drew wide attention at the exhibition. Taking ice cream robots as an example, boasting an eye-catching design and efficient and standardized production, they can make an ice cream in about 40 seconds. Equipped with cloud-based systems, these robots apply to scenic spots, office buildings, shopping malls, cinemas, transportation junctions. The scale of China's robotics industry is expected to reach approximately 400 billion yuan during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period (2026-2030), CCID forecasted.
