At the 9th China-South Asia Expo (CSA Expo), Xu Bu, member of the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism and President of the Institute of Global Development and Security at Jiangsu University, shared his expert analysis in an exclusive interview with China Economic Net “When we talk about multilateralism, it's not working well. It's a pity. But what's important is that multilateral cooperation in our part of the world - in the Asia-Pacific - is developing very rapidly. China and South Asian countries, China and Southeast Asian countries, we are developing regional multilateral mechanisms in a way that benefits all of us. That is why China-South Asia Expo is providing a very important platform for regional multilateralism to work. It has promoted economic cooperation between China and South Asian countries, as well as between China and Southeast Asian countries. The bilateral trade between China and Pakistan exceeded twenty-three billion U.S. dollars, and the bilateral trade between China and India exceeded U.S. $150 billion. Regional economic cooperation is developing in a very constructive way, and we should not take it for granted. We need to work hard to ensure that cooperation - whether economic, security, or political- is maintained and guaranteed."
