At 11:47 a.m. on July 14, the maximum electricity load in Anyang reached 5.01 million kilowatts, setting a new historical record and marking an increase of 130,000 kilowatts compared with the previous peak of 4.88 million kilowatts in 2023. On the same day, total electricity consumption reached 102.22 million kilowatt-hours, surpassing the 100 million mark for the first time. Monthly cumulative consumption stood at 1.26 billion kilowatt-hours, up 32.9% year on year.

According to forecasts, Henan will continue to experience high temperatures and muggy weather this week. The peak summer load on the Anyang power grid is expected to reach 5.15 million kilowatts. Closely tracking weather changes, State Grid Anyang Power Supply Company activated a high-temperature alert at 10:00 a.m. on July 12. Relevant departments responded according to the alert level, conducting timely assessments of grid and equipment conditions, dynamically adjusting alert levels, and adopting multiple measures to ensure a reliable power supply through the summer peak.

To ensure stable operations, the company has strengthened coordination of grid dispatching. During periods of high temperature and heavy load, it has worked to fully tap the peak capacity of all power sources, conduct balanced analysis between generation and demand, optimize grid operations, and enhance real-time control to maintain safe and stable grid performance.

Operation and maintenance of power equipment have also been intensified. Differentiated and refined inspections have been carried out for key substations, transmission and distribution lines, as well as 214 critical urban lifeline circuits and major crossing points. Monitoring of essential equipment such as transformers, GIS, and switchgear has been enhanced to detect and eliminate potential defects and hazards promptly.

Efforts to bring key supply projects into early operation have also progressed. The company secured 2.06 billion yuan in summer infrastructure investment from the provincial utility group, enabling six major summer-supporting projects—including the 220 kV Wenfeng–Juyuan line and the 110 kV Guangming substation in the urban area—to go into operation. These projects have added 92.7 kilometers of new transmission lines and increased supply capacity by 315,000 kilowatts. In addition, five mobile substations, including the 110 kV Tongye and 35 kV Beiguo units, have been commissioned to resolve challenges in charging all-electric heavy trucks and provide targeted support for grid reliability during summer peaks.

Customer service support has been optimized. The company has improved monitoring and closed-loop response to customer requests, giving priority to urgent livelihood-related issues. In the event of power failures caused by extreme heat, the company follows the principle of “restore power first, repair later” to expedite repairs and reassure affected users.

Emergency response and on-duty operations have been significantly strengthened. A “major duty” mechanism has been launched, with company leadership at both city and county levels remaining on-site. Technical departments maintain 24-hour emergency standby. A total of 134 repair teams, 1,364 repair personnel, 17 emergency power vehicles, and 74 emergency generators are on standby, forming a grid-based regional repair network to ensure rapid response and timely restoration.

The company also places great emphasis on maintaining production safety. Personal safety risks posed by high-temperature working conditions have been fully assessed, and organizational and technical safeguards have been developed in advance. Heat prevention and emergency response measures have been implemented, with sufficient supplies of cooling materials and medical kits to ensure the safety of frontline workers.
