A delegation of trainees from Pakistan's New Gwadar International Airport training program, organized by the Academy for International Business Officials of China's Ministry of Commerce, arrived in Urumqi on July 31.
This visit has established a new communication channel for aviation cooperation between China and Pakistan, and demonstrated both countries' firm commitment to deepening infrastructure cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The trainees visited Urumqi Tianshan International Airport operated by Xinjiang Airport Group on Aug. 1. At the terminal building, modern facilities such as automated check-in equipment and intelligent security screening systems attracted close observation from the trainees, who actively inquired about technical application details and operational cost control experience.
At the graduation ceremony on Aug. 4, Lv Huibin, General Manager of Xinjiang Airport Group, stated that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, with aviation cooperation always at the forefront, adding that Xinjiang Airport Group is willing to continue leveraging its geographical advantages and technical expertise to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in civil aviation.
An Pakistani official, representing trainees, said the Group's professional standards, operational scale and technological innovation is a vibrant showcase of China's leading position in global civil aviation. This training also highlighted the importance of technical exchanges, professional collaboration and mutual learning, serving as a living example of turning bilateral cooperation from documents into practice.
The valuable knowledge gained from this training will not only effectively promote the construction of Pakistan's civil aviation system, but also inject lasting momentum into the long-term development of Pakistan's civil aviation industry.
After the graduation ceremony, the trainees visited the Integrated Operation Center (IOC) for exchanges on various operational aspects, including airfield control, winter de-icing operations, navigational aid operations, bird hazard prevention, as well as centralized forecasting, remote tower command, emergency management and safety alerts.
