BEIJING, Jan 12 (China Economic Net) - The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, in partnership with China International Intellectech Co. (CIIC) and the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), hosted a pilot job fair on Sunday in Beijing to connect Pakistani graduates and working professionals in China with Chinese companies operating in Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said the embassy is working to support the “entire value chain” of Chinese investment in Pakistan, covering policy coordination, skills development and human-resource deployment. Addressing participants, he encouraged them to view their roles beyond job hunting. With China-based education and professional exposure, “you are not only job seekers, you are bridge builders between our two nations,” he said, urging attendees to prepare professionally, present their skills confidently, remain open to continuous learning, and engage proactively with initiatives such as the job fair. He added that the embassy will continue working with Chinese partners to create transparent, merit-based and sustainable employment pathways.

Education Attaché Sufyan Ahmed Mian told CEN that the job fair offers a dual benefit: it helps Pakistani students and professionals access structured career opportunities, while providing Chinese enterprises with a platform to identify talent for current and future projects in Pakistan. He noted there are around 29,000 Pakistani students in China, with about 6,000 scholarships available, and said that around 400 people registered for the job fair within a 15-day period, reflecting strong interest.

CODA President He Zengwei said the association has helped create thousands of jobs over the past nine years and will continue building a docking platform for Chinese enterprises and Pakistani talent. He encouraged participants to match what they have learned in China with Pakistan’s development needs and contribute to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor cooperation.

Pakistani students said the event “turns education into opportunity,” adding that working with Chinese firms in Pakistan would allow graduates to bring technical skills, language ability and cross-cultural experience back to their national development priorities.
