BEIJING, March 18 (China Economic Net) - China hopes that Afghanistan and Pakistan will remain calm, exercise restraint, and engage in direct dialogue at the earliest possible time to achieve a ceasefire, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday.
Lin made the remarks during a regular press briefing when asked about the recent Afghanistan-Pakistan conflicts, saying that the two countries should resolve their differences and disputes through dialogue.
Lin noted that Afghanistan and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbor. Issues between them can only be resolved through dialogue and negotiation.
He added that China has called on both sides to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions. China will continue to play a constructive role in easing tensions and improving bilateral relations through its own channels.
