BEIJING, Apr 1 (China Economic Net) - The 12th Beijing International Smart Agriculture Expo opened at the China National Convention Center on Monday, attracting a strong influx of international visitors and highlighting expanding cooperation, particularly in irrigation & modern agricultural development.

Held from March 30 to April 1 alongside the 4th Beijing International Water Conservancy Technology Expo, the event is themed “A Global Smart Agriculture Feast and Technological Exploration.” It is jointly organized by Zhenwei International Exhibition Group, the China Agricultural Water Conservation and Rural Water Supply Technology Association, and other leading institutions.

Covering an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, the expo brings together around 600 renowned companies from across the globe and is expected to receive more than 35,000 professional visitors. As one of the world’s top irrigation exhibitions and the first in China’s irrigation industry to receive UFI certification, the event underscores its growing international influence.

Foreign participants from Turkey, Pakistan, and Malaysia expressed admiration for China’s rapid advancements in smart agriculture. The exhibition showcases cutting-edge technologies across four themed zones: water-saving irrigation, smart agriculture, modern facility agriculture, and modern farmland construction. Innovations such as IoT-based monitoring systems, integrated water and fertilizer management, plant factories, and agricultural robots drew particular attention.

The expo also serves as an important platform for international collaboration. Pakistani visitors showed keen interest in adopting Chinese technologies to improve agricultural efficiency and address water challenges. Experts noted that such exchanges could further strengthen China–Pakistan cooperation under initiatives like the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Meanwhile, several high-level forums, including the World Irrigation Technology Conference and the Beijing International Digital Agriculture Conference, are being held in parallel. These forums gather global experts and industry leaders to discuss trends and promote technological exchange.
