Pakistan-China Friendship Celebrated Through Art at Beijing Photo Exhibition

BEIJING, Apr 18 (China Economic Net) - To commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, in collaboration with the Beijing Peace Garden Museum and IBI Goulian Goufan, co-hosted a compelling photo exhibition titled "Shadows of Belonging" by renowned Pakistani artist Ms. Nazia Akram.

The Exhibition held at the Beijing Peace Garden Museum, on Saturday the event brought together dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and media representatives, celebrating Pakistan's vibrant artistic expression and the enduring cultural ties between the two nations.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Khalil Hashmi, said exhibition marks a significant milestone the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. He noted that over the past seven and a half decades, the two countries have developed a unique model of inter-state relations based on mutual trust, respect, and unwavering support. He emphasized that the Pakistan-China friendship has stood the test of time and continues to grow stronger.

The Ambassador commended Ms. Nazia Akram, an accomplished Pakistani visual artist, for collaborating with the Embassy to showcase her work. He also acknowledged Wang Long for his musical performance, which added a profound emotional dimension to the exhibition. Inspired by classical Chinese poetry, his compositions created a poetic dialogue with Ms. Akram's photography, beautifully bridging cultures through art and sound.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nazia Akram described "Shadows of Belonging" as an exploration of Pakistan's cultural essence, captured through everyday life, light, shadow, and architectural forms. She shared that photography, for her, is a way of thinking through seeing, and emphasized that the exhibition represents not just a visual experience but a meaningful cultural dialogue reflecting the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to artistic exchange and mutual understanding.
