An offprint of remarks made by Communist Party of China (CPC) leader Xi Jinping on the occasion of a recent major anniversary hit the book market on Thursday.

Published by the People's Publishing House, it began to be sold in the nation's Xinhua Bookstore chain.

The offprint is Xi's speech at a gathering held to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, also the opening ceremony of the 2013 spring semester.

At the ceremony, Xi called for Party members to enhance their ability to handle new problems and challenges through study and practice.

He said that earnestly studying Marxist theory is "a special skill" for the Party and officials to do their work well, and grasping the Party's theories, principles and policies, as well as the country's laws and regulations, is "basic preparation" for officials and their "important political quality."

"The aim of study lies in practice," Xi said, adding that the ultimate goal of Party officials boosting their study efforts lies in honing their working ability and sharpening their problem-solving skills.
