Libyan intelligence chief arrived in Cairo on Wednesday evening, following the arrestment of three former Libyan officials by the Egyptian side, Egyptian state-run news agency MENA reported.

The Libyan official, Salem Abdel-Fattah Salem, reached Cairo one day after Egyptian authorities arrested Ahmed Gaddaf al-Dam, former coordinator for Libyan-Egyptian relations under slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Dam, a cousin of Gaddafi, had been pursued by Interpol over alleged crimes including counterfeiting, fraud and money laundering.

Egypt's prosecution on Tuesday ordered to detain Dam for 30 days in accordance with a legal and judicial cooperation agreement between Egypt and Libya, which enables one country to detain suspects from the other for renewable 30 days until their extradition.

Also on Tuesday, the Egyptian authorities arrested former Libyan ambassador to Egypt Ali Maria and ex-Libyan financial official Mohamed Ibrahim Mansour.
