At least 50 injured after car hit crowd in U.S. state of Virginia
At least 50 people were injured after a car hit a crowd of people Saturday afternoon during an annual festive hiking event in the U.S. state of Virginia, local media reported.
The incident occurred in the town of Damascus, Virginia Saturday during a celebration of a famous hiking trail, when a car drove into a crowd at a parade, CNN reported.
A Washington County emergency official told local news channel WCYB that 12 to 15 people were taken to regional hospitals by ambulance or helicopters.
No fatalities have been reported so far.
Local authorities said the investigation into the driver and the motivation is still underway.
