Authorities in Bali are to temporarily close the international airport and all sea ports in the resort island of Bali on March 12 for the celebration of the day of silence, Nyepi Day, official said on Wednesday.
The information about the plan has been disseminated to all related parties, including 4 ministries, international airliners and shipping firms, said I Ketut Teneng, spokesperson at Bali provincial administration office.
With the close, the international aviation industry and shipping companies were expected to not conduct a flight or shipping schedule to Bali during the celebration of the silence day, said Ketut.
"The dissemination of the information is expected to reach those related with it at domestic and foreign countries," he was quoted by inilah online, one of the biggest news portal in the country, as saying.
Over 200,000 foreign holidaymakers coming into Bali every month, according to data from the national statistic bureau.
Bali is the center of Indonesia tourism industry.
Indonesia is the world's most populous country, but in Bali island, most of the population have Hindu belief.
