Former US basketball player Dennis Rodman has praised the leader of the Democratic People¡¯s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un, as "an awesome guy" who has the love of his people.

Speaking at Pyongyang airport on Friday, as he ended his four-day trip to the country, he indicated he wanted to bring more friends to the DPRK. Rodman watched a basketball game with the Kim Jong-un on Thursday, with the two dining on sushi afterwards. Rodman is the highest-profile American to have met the DPRK leader since he took power in 2011. His visit comes amid ongoing tensions between DPRK and the United States, following a third underground nuclear test by the DPRK.
