There was no clash on the Thai- Myanmar border and 10 Myanmar soldiers were found after they went missing in the forest near Thai border, a Thai Army officer said on Saturday.

Col. Kriangkrai Srirak, Commander of the 25th Infantry Regiment Task Force who oversees the area, told Xinhua by phone that the Myanmar authorities made clear Friday that the report that Myanmar soldiered were killed in a clash near Thailand's western border province of Ranaong was untrue.

According to the commander, shortly before the 10 soldiers lost contact with their base, the telephone signal was not good and people at the base misunderstood the sound of forest fire as armed clash.

There was no clash and no Thai people involved, Col. Kriangkrai insisted.
