Indian PM begins three-day German tour
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh embarked on a three-day visit to Germany on Wednesday.
"I will seek Chancellor (Angela) Merkel's support for an early conclusion of an India-EU broad-based trade and investment agreement. I will also propose that Europe keeps its doors open to Indian investors and professionals," the Prime Minister said in his departure statement.
During his visit aimed at enhancing trade ties, Singh will also co-chair with the German Chancellor the second meeting of the inter-governmental consultations launched in 2011 to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister's delegation include External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
