Britain's new car sales rise again in Feb.

Britain saw 66,749 new car registrations in February, up 7.9 percent from a year earlier, industry figures showed on Thursday.

This is the 12th consecutive month of increase for new car sales in Britain. Total sales for the year to date stood at 210,392, up 10.3 percent year on year, Britain's Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said.

Registrations of mini cars rose 135.7 percent in February and have doubled during the past year, while supermini cars continued to be the largest segment, accounting for 35.6 percent of the total volumes in February.

Britain's car production hit a four-year high in 2012, in contrast with a 8.2-percent drop in the the overall European car sales.

Britain manufactured 1.46 million cars in 2012, of which a record high of 1.21 million were exported.
