Some of Ryanair's Ireland-based pilots on Thursday announced two more one-day strikes later this month following their on-going 24-hour strike which will end on the midnight of Thursday.

According to a statement issued by their trade union Irish Air Line Pilots's Association (IALPA) on Thursday evening, the strikes will be staged on Friday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 24.

The announcement came hours after Ryanair said that Thursday's strike by some of its pilots had got them nowhere and if they insisted on further strikes then so be it.

Some one hundred directly employed Ryanair pilots based in Ireland launched a 24-hour strike on Thursday after the airline's management failed to meet their demands during Wednesday talks.

According to Ryanair, the strike had disrupted 30 out of some 290 scheduled flights of the airline on Thursday, affecting nearly 5,000 customers, all scheduled to travel between Ireland and Britain.

Ryanair had informed the affected customers in advance and all these customers had either been refunded or rerouted, it said.

Earlier last Tuesday, some of Ryanair's Ireland-based pilots voted to launch a one-day strike on Thursday, July 12th as they lost patience with their employer in talks over the improvement of their working conditions including pay, base transfer, annual leave and seniority issues.

To avert the threatened strike, Ryanair offered a talk with the representatives of the pilots by agreeing to meet them on a neutral venue on Wednesday.

Both sides blamed each other after the talks failed.

Ryanair is Europe's largest budget airline headquartered in Ireland. The airline boasts some 350 pilots based in Ireland.

The number of pilots involved in Thursday's strike only accounted for 27 percent of its pilot workforce in Ireland, said the airline.
