Qatar on Saturday strongly condemned the Israeli forces for clashing with the Palestinian prayers at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, state-run Qatar News Agency reported.

"The Israeli occupation forces ... deliberately chose the holiest times and places in order to provoke the feelings of 1.5 billion Muslims," Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The Qatari ministry also condemned the recently approved Israeli Nation Law, describing it as "racist" against the Palestinians.

According to the new Israeli law, the Palestinian people on the Israel-occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, have no right to self-determination.

The Qatari statement called on the international community to take urgent action to stop Israel's human rights violations and to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites in Palestine.

On Friday afternoon, at least 50 Israeli policemen raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque, attacking Palestinian worshippers and arresting 24 of them, according to the Jordanian Islamic Waqf Ministry, religious authority that governs the site.
