Qatar, the host of the World Cup in 2022, is carefully monitoring violation of human rights in Doha, reported Qatar-based newspaper Qatar Tribune on Sunday.

Saad Salem al Dosari, the Assistant Director of the Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Interior, stressed that the ministry is committed to maintaining the human rights.

"The department addressed 1,811 complaints and requests received from the public in 2017," he said.

He added that some cases had been referred to Qatari public prosecutor's office.

Qatar has been under pressure and spotlight since it won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup seven years ago.

Earlier in March, Qatar launched three committees to resolve labor disputes and complaints.

In 2017, Qatar announced a new labor law that aimed at making it easier for migrant workers to change jobs, leave the country and file complaints.
