Albanian gov't approves agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses with Greece
The Albanian Council of Ministers has approved the agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses with neighboring Greece.
The agreement was signed in early May this year by the foreign ministers of the two countries -- Ditmir Bushati and Niko Kotzias -- and is expected to enter into force within the next week.
According to the agreement, citizens with Albanian driving licenses will not need to undertake the procedures for obtaining a driving license in Greece, which may cost from 700 to 1,000 euros (around 800 to 1,170 U.S. dollars).
Moreover, Albanian citizens with a residence permit can be hired as a driver with their Albanian driving license in Greece and vice versa.
