Some 82 percent of the Brazilian population are not satisfied with President Michel Temer and his government, the highest level since he took over the presidency in August 2016, according to a poll released Wednesday.

In contrast, only 4 percent of the population believe the government is doing a good job, according to the survey conducted by Ibope, a leading polling firm on Brazil and Latin America.

Those who have confidence in the president fell from 5 percent of the population in June to 4 percent, while those who do not trust Temer remained high at 92 percent.

Disapproval ratings are between 90 percent and 92 percent, with approval rates witnessing the sharpest drop in the southern, northern and central-western areas of Brazil, said the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), who released the Ibope poll.

Ibope interviewed 2,000 voters in 126 municipalities on Sept. 22-24. The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
