Iran opposes draft resolution against Hamas
Iran is against a U.S.-drafted resolution seeking to condemn the Palestinian Hamas movement in the United Nations, Press TV reported on Monday.
In a telephone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Islamic Hamas movement, on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reaffirmed Iran's full support for the Palestinian people's rights.
Iran would do its utmost to prevent the ratification of the resolution at the UN General Assembly meeting, Zarif said.
Reportedly, the UN General Assembly plans to vote on Tuesday for the U.S. draft resolution to condemn Hamas "for repeatedly firing rockets into Israel and for inciting violence."
