Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was hit with eggs by an opposition Democratic party lawmaker during the parliament session on Thursday.

The Albanian opposition returned to parliament for the first time since July.

Democratic party lawmaker Endri Hasa threw the first egg at Rama's belly while he was speaking, and missed hitting him twice.

The parliament speaker Gramoz Ruci immediately asked the security to accompany Hasa out but he refused to leave. Soon after the bureau of the parliament decided to expel Hasa for 10 days.

The opposition in Albania has been boycotting parliament since the summer break and they declared they would return to the session to vote for the budget change in support of the Albanian students.

The students have been boycotting lessons and protesting for better conditions for more than two weeks, calling for a raise of budget on education.
