Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday congratulated Nigeria's Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election as President of Nigeria.
He wished Buhari well in his efforts to steer the country towards further progress and development.
"Congratulations @MBuhari on your re-election as President of Nigeria. I wish you all the best as you continue to lead your country towards further progress and development, and fulfill the high hopes the people of Nigeria have placed in you," Mnangagwa said in a tweet.
Nigeria's electoral commission early Wednesday morning declared the incumbent Buhari winner of the country's presidential elections held last Saturday.
This is Buhari's second four-year term in office. Buhari, 76, of the ruling All Progressives Congress party, secured 55.6 percent of the vote, beating his main challenger former vice president Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who received 41.2 percent.
