A poll released on Wednesday showed 84 percent of French expected President Francois Hollande to miss the target of reversing unemployment rate by year-end.
An IFOP survey for the weekly magazine Valeurs Actuelles said one French out of six expressed doubt over Hollande's ability to deliver on his promise to bring down the number of unemployed people, a fresh blow to the Socialist statesman who already suffers from declining popularity.
In the Left camp, two thirds of respondents said the president will not reach his objective, according to the survey.
In a visit to Roche-sur-Yon in western France to promote his roadmap to create jobs, Hollande on Tuesday insisted to achieve his year-end promise via thousands of state-sponsored jobs aimed at filiating the recruitment of poorly-skilled youth in neglected districts and rural areas.
At the end of June, jobless claims hit a fresh record to 3.28 million, up by 0.5 percent from May figures.
