Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures rose over 1 percent on Monday, as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported new Chinese purchase.

The most active corn contract for May delivery went up 5.25 cents, or 1.47 percent to close at 3.6175 U.S. dollars per bushel. May wheat delivery added 5 cents, or 1.09 percent to close at 4.6275 dollars per bushel. May soybean delivery was up 11.25 cents, or 1.27 percent to close at 8.9550 dollars per bushel.

The USDA on Monday confirmed 828,000 metric tons of soybeans by private exporters for delivery to China during the 2018/2019 marketing year.

USDA on Monday morning also reported that weekly soybean export inspections were 730,806 metric tons for the week ending March. 28, in line with market forecasts that ranged from 500,000 to 900,000 metric tons.

As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, a freeze warning is in effect for a wide stretch of land from northeastern Oklahoma state into West Virginia state, according to the National Weather Service. Enditem
