More than 10,000 hi-tech companies were established in Israel over the past decade, according to a report released by the Israeli IVC Research Center on Wednesday.
According to the report, between 2010 and 2019, some 10,866 new hi-tech companies were founded in Israel.
In addition, Israeli hi-tech companies have raised a total of 39.1 billion U.S. dollars in 4,168 deals in that period, of which 12 billion dollars in mega-deals higher than 50 million dollars each.
In 2010, hi-tech companies raised about 2.1 billion dollars in 319 deals, while in 2019 they raised about 8.3 billion dollars in 522 deals, recording an increase of about 295 percent in the amount raised and about 64 percent in the number of deals.
In addition, there was a major increase in fund raising by Israeli deep tech sector (which develops products based on profound scientific breakthrough or engineering novelty), from 51 million dollars in 2010 to 1.8 billion dollars in 2019.
