American actor Joaquin Phoenix will star in Woody Allen's next movie, according to Variety.

The film, whose title is yet to be disclosed, will mark Phoenix's first time working with the writer-director. Filming will begin this July.

Allen's film "Magic in the Moonlight" starring Eileen Atkins, Colin Firth and Marcia Gay Harden will hit American screens on July 25th. The film takes place in south France.

"Magic in the Moonlight" is the 47th film directed by Allen, who has been nominated for 24 Oscars. His film "Blue Jasmine" won Cate Blanchett the Best Actress Oscar at this year's Academy Awards.
