"Who will suffer the most if China imposes tariffs on American cars? It's BMW. The fight between the U.S. and China will harm other countries." Cheng Haibo, Director for Chinese governmental affairs of Bloomberg, expressed his point on 2018 China Financial Information Service Development Summit held by China Economic Net on July 3.
Cheng Haibo explained that the German company BMW operates its largest car assembly line in the U.S., from where it has traditionally exported the SUV models X5 and X6 to China.
Cheng Haibo is highly concerned about the U.S. move on imposing high tariffs on imports from China. "Every morning, I surf online to see whether Trump talked about China on his Twitter account", said Cheng. At this moment, once the trade friction intensifies, everyone is a victim.
