BEIJING, March 8 (China Economic Net) -- “I'm glad to take a question from China's iron brother, and we welcome Pakistan and India’s desire to de-escalate the situation and start talks.” said Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi when responding to a question about the recent tension between Pakistan and India from a reporter with Associated Press of Pakistan Friday.

“China has stressed from the beginning the need to exercise calm and restraint and prevent escalation. In the meantime, sovereignty and territorial integrity should be fully respected.” Wang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the second session of the 13th National People's Congress.

China advises Pakistan and India to quickly turn the page and seek fundamental and long-term improvement in their relations. China hopes Pakistan and India will replace confrontation with dialogue, settle disagreement with goodwill and create a better future with cooperation.
