Recently, a senior official of the Pakistani government said that a special steering working group would be set up to study and formulate a strategy of honey production and push the sale of the honey to the high-end international market.

Here, we first need to understand what is the high-end market. The high-end market consists of high-end consumer groups, which have a demand for quality products and are willing to pay accordingly.

Honey contains a variety of nutrients, such as sugar, enzymes, amino acids and vitamins, which are essential for human metabolism. Eating honey can moisturize skin, preserve youth, prevent and cure diseases, and prolong life.

Nowadays, the wealthy pay much attention to quality of life, and believe what they eat should contribute to their health and longevity of life. As a source of healthy nutrition, honey is mainly bought by the wealthy. They are mainly concerned about the quality, not the price.

Therefore, it is a prudent choice for the Pakistani government to target the international high-end market.

Nowadays, the biggest producers and exporters of honey in the world are Spain, Ethiopia, Argentina, India, Russia and Mexico. China is also one of the top ten producers and exporters of honey.

To enhance the export capacity of honey means to improve the quality of honey products, meet international quality standards, and adapt to high-end international consumer groups; these three points are necessary conditions to be met.

Pakistan is an agricultural country with almost no heavy industrial pollution of heavy metals, pesticide residues and other chemical pollutants.

Pakistani honey is characterized by its origins in high mountains, ancient forests, abundant sunshine, suitable climate and no pollution, so honey produced in Pakistan can be considered of high quality. Pakistani honey is a hot commodity in the international market if the annual collection frequency is maintained to ensure that the honey is fully ripe, the moisture content of the honey is low and the purity is high.

At present, Pakistan exports honey mainly to Europe, America, Australia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia and other countries and regions.

Chinese people like honey, but they like really good honey, especially pure natural honey. All Chinese who have been to Pakistan know that Pakistan has good quality pure natural honey. Therefore, Pakistan's pure natural honey can possibly have a large market in China. In this regard, Pakistan should step up its promotion efforts to inform the Chinese market that Pakistan has good honey.

As for agricultural products, I have talked for quite a few times about deep processing, which may increase profitability greatly.

If Pakistan can produce some well-designed brands and products of honey, it will dominate the international market.

For example, China is a big producer and exporter of Royal jelly. The main function of royal jelly is to promote Haematopoiesis and increase immunity. Now China's royal jelly has cornered more than 90% of the international market.

Therefore, Pakistan may also exploit its unique advantages and develop some top-notch products of honey.
