ISLAMBAD, October 16（Gwadar Pro）- Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said Pakistan always relied on Iron Brother China's friendship and Beijing had backed Pakistan economically and diplomatically over the years.
Speaking at a ceremony after inaugurating N-Ovative Health Technology Facility at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) here, PM Khan said Pakistan had also looked up to China and overseas Pakistanis. This is the first facility in Pakistan that will produce cardiac stents.
"These two (China and overseas Pakistanis) have been the top people to look to. They are out assets," he said amid thunderous clapping by the audience.
The PM said that China was developing day-by-day because of its enhanced export system. "Real development of the country is not possible without enhancing exports, and the PTI (Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf) government has set the direction right to focus on exports instead of imports," he added.
PM Khan said overseas Pakistanis were biggest assets of Pakistan as they can have positive impact on country’s economy.
He appreciated the efforts of NUST for preparing cardiac stents in Pakistan and said that it has provided an opportunity to carry out free medical treatment of the poverty-stricken people.
The PM said "we are lacking mutual cooperation among our departments due to which, Pakistan is facing different crises. We are forced to seek assistance from International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to shortage of dollars and rupee depreciation in the country."
Giving assurance of full support to higher education, the PM said the government will promote knowledge economy. He also urged the youth to have their visions and work hard to realize their potential.
