Pakistan's pharmaceutical exports in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2021 grew by 22.6 percent year-on-year to 68.1 million U.S. dollars, Abdul Razak Dawood, advisor to Pakistani prime minister on commerce, textile, industry and production, and investment, said on Monday.

Pakistan's pharmaceutical exports have gotten off to a good start this year, the minister said in a tweet, adding that in value terms, the country's pharmaceutical exports have grown by 22.6 percent in Q1 of the fiscal year 2021 to 68.1 million U.S. dollars as compared to 55.6 million U.S. dollars in the corresponding period last year.

Pakistan's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 of next year.

Dawood attributed the Q1 export growth to the hard work of pharmaceutical exporters and a renewed focus on export.

Meanwhile, the export of pharmaceutical products in September saw an increase of 57.99 percent from a year earlier, showed the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Enditem
