Agricultural cooperation under CPEC is a destiny changer for Pakistan: Asif
BEIJING, Nov. 19 (China Economic Net) – “Since agriculture is a pivotal backbone of Pakistani economy, cooperation between Pakistan and China in this sector will be a destiny changer for Pakistan and us all,” Farhat Asif, the President of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), said in the welcome remarks.
In order to tap agricultural cooperation potential between China and Pakistan in the fields of seed industry, agricultural product processing and agricultural investment, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, China Economic Net, in collaboration with the IPDS and The Express Tribune, under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Pakistani Embassy in China, organized a webinar on China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation and Prospects on November 19, 2020.
Asif delivered welcome remarks on the Webinar and expressed her gratitude to the participants. She introduced guest speakers including Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Moin ul Haque, Pakistani Ambassador to China and so on.
According to Asif IPDS is a Pakistani independent nongovernmental organization aiming to provide strength to Pakistan's effective role in peace and intellect. it has developed research through Pakistan’s well built and needed public diplomacy.
“Taking the opportunities here, I'd like to highlight the importance of agricultural sector. agriculture is the heart of economy in Pakistan. meanwhile, China has stronger agriculture and advanced techniques. as we see that China has not only helped its own land and people, but also shared agricultural experiences with BRI countries like Pakistan. China has given us much larger contribution towards economy of Pakistan,” she said.
