BEIJING, April 13 (Gwadar Pro) - A book “Garlands of Love” on Pak-China friendship and authored by former Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Lu Shulin, was launched in a ceremony held on Monday at the Pakistan Embassy Beijing.

 

Expressing his gratitude, Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque said, this year, both Pakistan and China are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, “There is a need to remember those architects and heroes of our two countries who played a leading role in the progressive evolution of our friendship and providing it with a strong foundation for its subsequent development”, he added.

 

Ambassador Haque opined that it is due to diplomats' untiring efforts like Ambassador Lu Shulin that both Pakistan and China are enjoying an all-weather friendship that is unique, special, and time tested.

 

“By keeping the memories of these heroes fresh, we can take our mutually beneficial bilateral relations to a new pinnacle of success and growth,” adding, it is also important that our younger generations study deeply the lives of diplomats like Ambassador Lu,who have made outstanding contributions to Pak-China friendship.

 

The author of the book and former Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Lu Shulin, addressed the ceremony extemporaneously in Chinese, English, and Urdu, saying that his book is a tribute to the friendship between the two countries cherished the days spent in Pakistan.

 

Talking to China Economic Net, Lu Shulin, who remained ambassador of China to Pakistan from 1999 to 2002, termed Pakistan as his second home and said it is Pakistan and China's destiny to stay united to build the community of shared future.

 

He further told CEN that the young people read his book to learn about friendship and iron brotherhood between Pakistan and China.

 

Zulfiqar Ali Malik, Second Secretary of Pakistan Embassy, told CNE that this masterwork is dedicated to Pakistan-China friendship. The book tells us Ambassador Lu’s fascinating stories about friendship between Chinese and Pakistani people.

 

He mentioned that China and Pakistan are celebrating 70 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year; Ambassador Lu Shulin and Pakistan Embassy are collaborating on the published second volume of the book titled “You and US” which is likely to be launched next month.

 

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong, congratulated Ambassador Lu on his book's launching in his video message.

 

The event was attended by President, China Pakistan Friendship Association, Sha Zukang, and senior Pakistani and Chinese officials and media.
