Beijing, May.20 (China Economic Net) - On May 19, the Promotion conference of SCO demonstration base for Agricultural technology exchange and training was held in Beijing. Vladimir Norov, SCO Secretary-General, Wei Zengjun, vice governor of Shaanxi Province attended and delivered speeches.

 

"I have visited Shaanxi Province a few times and have witnessed Yangling's achievements in smart agriculture development, green organic food planting, international trade of agricultural products, and professional talents cultivation." Vladimir Norov said, he believes that this promotion event will allow SCO member countries to better understand the potential of the Yangling Demonstration Zone and the SCO Agricultural Base. "At present, SCO has identified agricultural cooperation as a key direction for future cooperation. It is necessary to make full use of modern technology to discuss and adopt cooperative measures through online meetings and online training."

 

Wei Zengjun pointed out that agriculture is the the leading industries in SCO countries, it is also the cornerstone of economic and social stability. "Shaanxi has a profound farming culture. To promote modern agriculture in SCO countries, we will make full use of our advantages in science and education resources and continuously improve the functions of the demonstration base."

 

Rumman Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the SCO Secretariat also attended the event. "Chinese agriculture sector is infusing technology into seeds, crop-growing, distribution and marketing. We hope that we can work further to adopt and cooperate on these lines to have similar models in Pakistan."
