Pakistan and China ties based on love: Information Minister

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (Gwadar Pro) - Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday afternoon friendship between Pakistan and China is based on love and mutual respect.
In a statement in connection with the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China relations, celebrated on Friday, he said: “Our relations with China started from defence cooperation in 1950 which turned into strategic relations in 1966 and economic partnership in 1972.”
The minister said the ties were not only diplomatically close but their relations are beyond political and economic dimensions.
“The pride of this relationship is based on love and mutual respect, rooted in the people. The people of Pakistan understand that China stood by us in every difficult hour, similarly, Pakistan also helped China in every challenge,” he added.
Chaudhri said the excellent plan of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the foundation of each other's economic stability that would prove a game-changer for this region.
The Iron Brothers celebrated the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic ties on Friday (May 21). The top leadership exchanged congratulatory letters while events were organsied to mark the day.
The relationship between the two allies has gone from strength to strength ever since one can remember. China has helped Pakistan in all eventualities including the latest Covid outbreak and the locust attack.
