On August 18, the Water Resources Forum of the 5th China-Arab States Expo was held in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui autonomous region. 

 

The forum is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources and the government of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and organized by the department of Ningxia Water Conservancy.

 

Themed on "Digital Economy and the Intensive, Economical, and Safe Use of Water Resources", the forum is the first session set to be held during the 5th China-Arab States Expo.

 

Aiming to disseminate China's water control concepts, and to promote international academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of water, the forum will be built into a water affairs brand of international influence and be a platform to present China's achievements in water conservation and digital water control. It will also provide an opportunity to display China's cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative in the field of water resources.

 

The forum was held both online and offline, and focused on digital water control and innovative development. It promoted deeper cooperation with countries involved in the BRI in the field of water by introducing the guidelines and practices of China's water control.

 

The Sudanese ambassador, heads of water-related international organizations and institutions, such as the Arab Water Council and the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage, well-known domestic and foreign experts and scholars of intensive, economical and safe use of water resources, and representatives from domestic scientific research institutes and digital water control incubators, attended the event and were invited to give reports.

 

Ningxia hopes to strengthen international cooperation in the field of water control, and to further promote the global capacity of water management with Arab countries and those involved in the BRI, said Wang Daoxi, vice-chairman of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region's government.
