A special exhibition at the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services is displaying innovative achievements in the electronic information sector in Beijing.

The 9,600-square-meter telecommunications, computer and information services display area, which runs from Friday to Sept 7, comprises sections for 5G communication services, information services, ultrahigh-definition audiovisual services and green technologies related to carbon neutrality.

Huang Ping, deputy director of the Beijing Communications Administration, said the four major telecoms operators in China will showcase 5G applications in different fields.

The 5G telecommunications area features interactive elements to demonstrate advanced technologies and products.

As of the end of July, some 44,000 5G base stations had been built in Beijing with more than 11.51 million 5G terminal users. Beijing's subcenter in Tongzhou district also has access to the 5G network.

The exhibitors, including China Mobile and China Unicom, are showing visitors how 5G is changing lives. They want to drum up greater support for helping Beijing become a national 5G model city.

The information services section is demonstrating the application of new-generation information and intelligent technologies for urban environment services. Such technologies include big data, artificial intelligence and smart robots.

The ultrahigh-definition audiovisual services section showcases innovative technologies and products in the industrial chain, ranging from video equipment and editing software to video transmission and use.

The green technologies section features a display focused on carbon neutrality and cutting-edge technology services that are helping to realize the national goals of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Among the services featured are energy conservation, low-carbon technologies, energy storage, and carbon capture, use and storage.

The exhibition has attracted 67 domestic exhibitors, such as Beijing-based display screen maker BOE, and 12 international exhibitors including Sony and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
