With people extending holiday greetings, feasts prepared for family gatherings, and children spending hours at play, Muslims across the Middle East are indulging in the joy of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Meaning the "festival of breaking the fast", the three-day Muslim festival begins at the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is typically started with communal prayers.
